Although it served them well for some time, it had a few issues—the site drew its content from Flash “widgets,” making it slow to load and rendering it unusable on most mobile devices; it was difficult for their fans to find information and interact with the band; it was hard for the band to maintain.</p> <p>Little Thinky redesigned the site from the ground up, making it a breeze to navigate and easy to use. Tour information, music samples, photos, and video are now easily accessible and simple to find. Using the integrated content management system, the band can update the site from any location. They employ entrepreneurial creativity and the spirit and practice of transformational philanthropy to achieve this goal.</p> <p>Little Thinky was asked to build a simple, one-page “placeholder” while bids for a full-fledged website were being solicited. Their website, originally built by their record label, was attractive and functional, but in some ways ill-suited to the band and its fans. The small text was hard to read, the site was slow to load and navigate, and it was difficult for fans to interact. The label’s proprietary content management system made new requirements for the site hard to implement.</p> <p>Little Thinky reprogrammed the site to function on a new, self-hosted, extensible and accessible content management system. We also gave the design a “refresh,” keeping the site’s major design elements the same while tweaking and cleaning up the layout. Their existing website was a simple placeholder and Pate-Davis was eager to establish a viable web presence.</p> <p>We drafted wireframes and a layout for an entirely new site. Simon Marshall of Glue Design provided warm and rich visuals, and we integrated an easy-to-use content management system behind the scenes.
